Reiterer schlägt zurück

Der dritte Lauf des ABP World Cups fand vergangenes Wochenende in Shanghai, China statt. Jeremy Poret (FRA) ging mit einer gewaltigen Punkteführung in das Rennen. Der amtierende Weltmeister und Österreicher, Kevin Reiterer hatte nach einem Ausfall im letzen Grand Prix einen großen Rückstand in der Gesamtwertung.
“Ich bin optimistisch. Der Ski funktioniert, ich fühle mich fit und habe alles erdenkliche unternommen um mich auf die Wettkämpfe vorzubereiten. Mein Ziel ist es die maximale Anzahl an Punkten herauszuholen um meine Konkurrenten einzuholen.“ schildert Kevin. Mit zwei zweiten Plätzen am Start startete Reiterer eine Jagd auf den Erstplatzierten Nacho Armillias (ESP). Er setzte ihn beide Rennen unter hohen Druck aber konnte erst bei zwei kleineren technischen Fehlern die Führung übernehmen. Reiterer holte sich somit den Gesamtsieg beim Großen Preis von Shanghai und liegt nun nur mehr 11 Punkte hinter Jeremy Poret auf Rank zwei der Gesamtwertung.
„Es ist fantastisch den zweiten GP Sieg meiner Saison zu feiern. Es zeigte meinem Team und mir, dass wir noch Platz für Verbesserungen haben. Wir haben schon einige Änderungen für das kommende Rennen in Liuzhou geplant. Nun geht es weiter mit Vorbereitung für den nächsten Wettkampf und Presseterminen in China.“
Die vierte Runde des UIM-ABP Aquabike World Cups findet in Liuzhou, China am 3-5 Oktober statt.

Reiterer strikes back

At the third stop of the ABP World Championship, Jeremy Poret came into the event with a great points lead over the rest of the field. Defending World Champion Kevin Reiterer knows he has to be perfect to catch up with Poret in the title hunt after scoring no points due to a breakdown earlier this year.
“I feel confident coming into the event. I know we still have a long way to go till the end of the year but the only thing I can do now – score the maximum amount of points to wheel in my competitors”, says the Austrian. With starting second in both motos Kevin had a great base going starting to pressure the Spaniard Nacho Armillias every lap around. Nacho had small technical issues in both motos and had to give up his place to the 24 year old Austrian. With only 11 points behind Championship leader Poret, Reiterer is within reach of the overall lead and jumped into second of the overall standings after coming into this event as 4th.
“I am blessed with this win. We still have races to go and Nacho was on point this weekend. It showed the team and myself that we still have work to do. But we have some changes in mind for the upcoming race and looking forward to improve on our performance in Liuzhou.”, explains defending World Champion.
Round four of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship takes place in Liuzhou, China on 3-5 October.
